The reasons for the cracks are as follows:

(1) the uneliminated cracks (whether vertical or horizontal), subcutaneous bubbles and non-metallic inclusions on the steel billet of computer wire row will be rolled into wire rod, resulting in crack defects. If the needle holes on the billet are not removed, they will be extended, oxidized and welded after rolling, which will result in the linear appearance of the finished product.

(2) improper heating process (too fast preheating speed, too high heating temperature) of high carbon steel rod or high alloy billet, too fast cooling speed after rolling, may also cause cracks in the finished product, which may also lead to transverse cracks.

Crack prevention methods are as follows:

(1) computer wiring shall strengthen the acceptance of billets and the quality inspection before loading.

(2) adjust the cooling control technology according to the chemical composition of steel.

(3) the heating temperature of the billet should be as even as possible, and the opening and final rolling temperature should be controlled well.

The distribution of the computer row crack in the wire is discontinuous, perpendicular to the wire surface or falling into the wire at an Angle. Cracks vary in length, usually in a straight line, and occasionally transverse cracks or cracks.

The cracks formed by the defects on the steel billet of computer line are often accompanied by oxidation point and decarbonization, and ferrous oxide is often found in the cracks. The cracks formed by improper cooling control after rolling are not accompanied by decarbonization. Generally, there is no ferrous oxide in the cracks, and most of them are transverse cracks or cracks. Cracks can occur from steel-making to rolling.
